From 3-10 July 2010  Alexandra will be host of the Football for Hope Festival. The event will be held at No.3 square and this facility will be developed as a youth precinct. Detailed plans are underway to relocate the informal settlement and to re-house the affected community in housing that is purpose designed and already underway.

On completion the precinct will comprise the following sports facilities;

• 4 Kombi courts (basket ball, netball, volley ball) with flood lights
• 2 Tennis courts with seating and flood lights
• 1 international level skate board track with seating and flood lights
• 1 full scale football pitch with seating and flood lights
• 1 mini pitch with seating and floodlights
• 1 upgraded youth centre with hall
• 1 fully serviced clubhouse.
