Community Interaction:

Liaising with the community is a vital aspect of the Project. The ARP aims through it operations to encourage high levels of community involvement and civic pride. Through various channels, project implementation decisions are made in consultation with both the political structures and the broader community.
 

The ARP speaks directly to the community and informs the people of plans for their area that will affect them.

The Alexandra Development Forum (ADF) is the official communication channel for the ARP to interact with the people of Alex.  Membership to the ADF is open to any organisation working within Alexandra. (Click here to see pics of the ADF inauguration in 2002.)

An ARP Help Desk is situated in the Satellite People’s Centre in 8th Avenue, Alexandra. This Help Desk provides information on the Renewal Project and assists approximately 500 members of the community every month with queries and problems.

Fifteen Community Liaison Officers (CLO's), who live in Alexandra, also keep the Alex community informed about the Project - addressing various issues and concerns.
