Thousands of Alexandra residents turned out to see their newly-elected President, Jacob Zuma, at the official opening of the Pan Africa Shopping centre on Sunday 24th May 2009. A stage had been set up from which Zuma addressed the crowd alongside Gauteng Premier, Nomvula Mokonyane, ANC provincial chairperson Paul Mashatile, Johannesburg mayor Amos Masondo and Tebogo Mogashoa, Director of Pan Africa Development Company (Pty) Ltd.
