It's happening in Alex!

The LED (Local Economic Development) division of the Alexandra Renewal Project is organising a week-long programme of multi-cultural events promoting Tourism into Alexandra and providing small Alex businesses with a focused sales and marketing opportunity.

"There is so much happening in Alexandra, and this Local Economic Development (LED) Tourism Carnival will showcase the rich diversity of skills, resources and cultures in our community", says Darlene Louw, LED Project Manager and Deputy-Director of the Alexandra Renewal Project.

Programme of events:

Join us for a week of cultural and fun-filled activities in Alexandra:

30 Sept. Jazz Day @ Club Jazz, 7th Ave (Kgaganyane)
with an exhibition of work by local artists
1st Oct. Tradition Day @ the Jukskei River from 12:00
with food tasting from various African countries & Alex
2nd Oct. Kwaito, House & many more @ the Jukskei River
   Pantsula dance and story-telling
Mr & Miss Gomorah semi-finals at 09:00am @ the Jukskei River
   entries must be submitted by 09:00 am [click for entry form]
3rd Oct. Gala Event at 6:30 pm for Mr & Miss Gomorah @ East Bank Hall
ticket sales:R100 from the ARP-LED Team, refreshments included
4th Oct. Sports Day & LED Expo @ Altek & the Jukskei River
food and goodies will be sold
5th Oct. Sports Day & LED Expo @ Altek & the Jukskei River
food and goodies will be sold
