Housing Overview
Objective
The ARP seeks to create a secure and healthy housing environment
within an upgraded and well-integrated Alexandra that provides housing
choice, is affordable and well-regulated. Such an environment must
provide security of tenure and access to basic services, with social
and economic opportunities.

On the way to meeting the need
By the end of 2005, the ARP had facilitated the housing of some 10 000 households. Within Alexandra itself, 639 houses and 364 social housing units
had been completed. Since 2006, the Project has made visible advances,
but the need extends way beyond the numbers envisaged originally.
