ARP focus on Youth
As 16 June approaches, focus turns on the youth of South Africa.
While the ARP strives to improve the lives of all people of Alexandra,
the question must be asked, "What has the ARP done for the youth of
Alex?"
The Alexandra Renewal Project has a strong focus on the needs of
the children and young people of Alexandra. The ARP undertakes direct
interventions such as the building of new schools; it also plays a
supportive role enabling existing organisations to reach specific
goals. In the
Benchmark Survey conducted during 2005, the results show that 93%
of the youth (aged 16-19) in Alexandra feel the ARP has had a positive
impact on their lives.
